When I am Afraid

I have been teaching Dacia Grace the song “When I am Afraid” by Steve Green. This morning she was sitting on my computer desk and wanted to look at my Bible when the following conversation ensued.

“This is Mommy’s Bible.”

“Yes, it is! Are you going to find Jesus in the Bible?” (She often looks for the red letters as she knows that is when Jesus is talking.)

“No, Mommy. I find ‘When I am Afraid’!” She began to look very diligently through the Bible for the verses.

I helped her find the passage in Psalms 56: 3-4. She was so excited. We sang the song several times and talked about how Jesus is always with you.

We left for a play date and then returned for nap time. Before she went down for a nap, she wanted to find "Afraid" in Mommy's Bible. How could I say no to that request.

When I am afraid,
I will put my trust in Thee.
In God, whose word I praise,
In God I have put my trust;
I shall not be afraid.
What can mere man do to me?

Psalms 56:3-4

It blesses Arthur and I so much to see her love for the Bible and for worship shine through on a daily basis. We are humbled to think that God has entrusted us with this precious child of His!

This is a great story. I can't believe how much Dacia Grace has grown...and she's quite the strong one too. A gallon of milk up seven stairs for a 28 mo. baby is equal to me carrying 40 lbs. up a flight of stairs.
